Kinetic IT Appoints New Head of Digital Transformation: What it Means for Australia's Security Landscape

Australia’s tech services sector shook up its leadership this week when Kinetic IT named Jacqui Adams as its new Head of Digital Transformation & National Services, a move signalling deep ambitions around scaling secure service delivery and strengthening national-level digital infrastructure.

A Leader with Defence and Secure-Services Experience

Adams brings more than two decades of senior-level experience in enterprise strategy, AI, automation, and large-scale transformations. Prior roles include senior executive positions at Services Australia and advisory work across defence and national security sectors.

In her new role at Kinetic IT, she takes charge of the organisation’s digital platforms, nationwide service frameworks, shared services, and transformation programmes, positioning her at the centre of the company’s push to modernise and strengthen its national service delivery capacity.

Kinetic IT’s management described the appointment as a critical step in enhancing operational performance, streamlining service practices, improving consistency across jurisdictions, and meeting evolving customer and regulatory expectations.

Why This Matters for Security and Integration in Australia

1. Critical Mass for Secure National Services

Kinetic IT is already a major player in Australian ICT and government services. Its portfolio spans cloud, managed services, IT-service integration, cloud infrastructure, cyber-security (via its PROTECT+ offering), and systems integration.

With Adams at the helm of digital transformation, the company looks poised to further integrate cyber-security, service management and national-scale support, a potential foundation for more resilient, sovereign-capability-driven service delivery.

2. Bridging Government and Private Sector Needs

Given her background in defence and national agencies, Adams is likely to bring frameworks and discipline tested in high-security environments into the broader ICT services marketplace. For clients in critical infrastructure, government, utilities or regulated industries, this may translate into more robust risk-governance, compliance-aware service models, and end-to-end integration that balances agility with security.

3. Growth in Integration and Managed Services Demand

Kinetic IT has previously secured large-scale public-sector contracts including a A$23 million deal to deliver federal government IT services. Their expanded leadership now suggests stronger capacity to take on complex national projects involving cloud migration, hybrid work enablement, secure service desks, and integrated system management.

For system integrators, cybersecurity firms, and AV/infrastructure providers, this could signal rising demand for collaboration, especially where digital transformation intersects with sensitive data, critical infrastructure or compliance-heavy environments.
