Mitie has retained its security contract with Transport for London for a further 5 years, extending a partnership began in 2017.

The agreement which runs until July 2031, is reported to be worth 237 million. The award notice appeared in the Contracts Finder, the UK government’s public register of contract notices, on Monday 12th October.

Under this new contract over 480 Mitie colleagues will work closely with TFL to help protect passengers and key transport infrastructure across London. The agreement covers 58 Underground sites, the Elizabeth line, river piers and the London transport museum.

Mitie’s 24/7 Intelligence Security Operations Centre (ISOC) provides continuous monitoring and analysis across TFL’s network to identify emerging risks and direct security support where it is most needed. This contract also includes a dedicated Crime and Intelligence Taskforce, which will work with the TFL and enforcement agencies to tackle crime, graffiti, vandalism and antisocial behavior.

This contract creates apprenticeships, work placements and pathways into long-term careers. As part of the new contract Mitie will deliver five apprenticeship programs each year. The aim is to support skills development and broaden access to careers in security and intelligence.
